The Mount Gambier Rifle Club is located in Mount Gambier in the south east of South Australia. The club is dedicated to the sport of Target Rifle shooting with a focus on Full-bore and F Class disciplines; both for competition and recreation. Our members ensure our club provides a safe, controlled and family friendly environment which, allows everyone to enjoy our sport. We shoot most Saturday afternoons weather permitting.
The club range has shooting positions for distances of 300 to 800 yards. We shoot from a prone (lying down) position using specialised bolt action target rifles. Full-bore target shooters use peep sights (a type of open or iron sight) and a sling to help support the rifle. F Class shooters use a telescopic rifle scope and can support their rifle using both a front rest and rear bag.
If you are interested in finding out more, or would like to try Target Rifle shooting for yourself then please contact us. Visitors are welcome but encouraged to contact us first so we are able to make additional arrangements.
